No garden is complete without birdsong and a sure way of enticing our feathered friends into your haven is to ensure they're well fed. This is especially important during the winter months, but RSPB experts recommend we also feed nesting birds in spring and summer when they need extra food for their chicks, and migrating birds in autumn when they gather strength for their long flight to warmer climates. Simply scattering bread and scraps onto the lawn is not enough since larger birds, cats and other wildlife can soon 'Hoover' them up. We have several options to make sure birds can feed safely and securely, from freestanding bird tables to hanging cage feeders.
