Bikaner Wool Runner - a hand-crafted Bikaner wool rug. These exquisite pure wool rugs come from Panipat, a north Indian city famous for textiles and carpets. Considering the craftsmanship, quality and sheer weight of each piece, the value is hard to comprehend. Each rug is hand-made using a ‘needle gun’ with which the craftsman individually loops each thread of wool through the hessian base – and at a density of approx 56 tufts per square inch, that’s a lot of work!

Use of different pile heights gives a textured effect
Ultra-deep pile is Bikaner wool, so densely tufted that the rugs boast a ‘pile weight’ of over 6lbs per square metre
