Ultimate Non-stick Ceramic Coating Won't Scratch, Chip or Peel
Scratch resistant during cooking up to an exceptional 8-9H hardness - it is almost as tough as a diamond. Requiring little or no oil it's far easier to clean. Created from the natural minerals of the earth, Ecolon™ also offers a healthier cooking surface and does not emit harmful PFOA and PTFE.
This range is made of die-cast aluminium - far superior to cheaper pressed out pans. Die-casting allows cookware to have a thicker base preventing 'hot spots' and gives these
pans and dishes optimum heat conductivity up to an amazing 230°C/446°F.
Integrated, stay-cool handles are extra-long (18cm for the frying pans, 19cm for the sauté pan) and streamlined in shape allowing the frying pans to be manoeuvred more easily and more comfortably. The absence of rivets on the cooking surface also makes it easier to keep the pans clean for long periods of time.
What are our pans made of?
Ecolon™ coated cookware can cook an egg without using any oil! And clean up is a breeze too, both inside and outside! Ecolon's non-stick coating performance may appear to be slightly less than a PTFE-based non-stick coating. However, Ecolon's advantage comes from its durability, maintaining the same non-stick performance even after repeated use. PTFE-based non-stick coating loses its non-stick ability more quickly than Ecolon™.

Ecolon™ safe non-stick coating
Most non-stick cookware in today's market uses PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) for its non-stick properties. While PTFE made aluminium cookware popular as it provided a non-stick solution and prevented corrosion of aluminium, recent findings show that PFOA, a chemical used as a processing agent in the manufacture of PTFE-based cookware, could be a carcinogen and be harmful to the environment.
Using the most advanced ceramic technology, Ecolon™ produces durable and efficient non-stick coating material that is safe and environment friendly. Ecolon's coating line is completely dedicated to ceramic coating to prevent cross contamination from PTFE-based coating.
With Ecolon™ coated cookware, you can use less energy and achieve faster cooking times. Ecolon™ has better heat transfer due to the high heat conductivity of Ecolon™ coating material. Ecolon can reflect more Long Wave Infared Rays (90-93% compared to 80-85% for PTFE coating) allowing the heat to penetrate food up to 3cm, cooking food evenly without just burning the outside. Also, Ecolon's durable coating makes it efficient to clean even after repeated use.
Durability of Ecolon™ coating against scratches and high temperature allows the coating to last longer maintaining its non-stick property after repeated use. It also allows for easier cooking and cleaning with metal-based utensils. Most PTFE coating can only withstand up to 4H pencil testing. PTFE coating releases chemicals at 240°C. On the contrary, Ecolon™ can withstand 8H hardness testing and will not melt up to 450°C.
Scotts of Stow Range
Currently we offer 20cm and 24cm frying pans, plus oven dishes in two sizes: the small measures 6 x 35.5 x 19cm including handles, while the medium measures 7.5 x 38 x 21cm including handles. All items are available in exclusive Buttermilk or Flame Red. To prolong the life of your pans, use non-metal utensils. Although dishwasher safe, we recommend hand washing
