Stow-on-the-Wold is perhaps the best known of the small Cotswold market towns. Perched atop the highest hill in the Cotswolds and where the seven roads meet including the Roman Fosse Way, it is rich in both history and charm.
Famous for it’s huge annual fairs where as many as 20,000 sheep were sold at one time, it is no wonder that it boasts the largest market square. At one end stands the ancient cross and at the other, the town stocks. The town has many Antique shops, Art galleries, Craft shops, Restaurants and Tea rooms, and remarkably, like Scotts of Stow, over three quarters are independent and unique to the Town.

Scotts of Stow started out over 30 years ago, from a shop in beautiful Stow-on-the-Wold, which is one of the best-known Cotswold market towns. You’ll find Stow on top of the highest hill in the Cotswolds, at the meeting point of seven roads, including the Roman Fosse Way.
In the past, the large market square was home to huge annual fairs, where as many as 20,000 sheep would be sold! Nowadays, we have two shops there, with their home at the centre of the square amongst art galleries, craft shops, restaurants and tea rooms, many unique to the town. It’s a wonderful place to visit, so why not make a stop-off in Stow part of your Cotswolds tour?

Each Autumn the main store and the one ‘Across the Square’ get ready for the festive season. A curated range of gifts from Gift Discoveries are available in both stores. With over 800 gifts featured within the range there’s simply not enough room to feature all of them. Any that we can’t offer in Stow-on-the-Wold we will gladly arrange to deliver direct to your home removing any delivery charges.
On the first floor of the main store is a beautiful showroom of exquisite silk flowers from Bloom. All carefully handmade with the finest botanical detail; it’s a must for all flower lovers.
